Things get Heated for Protesters
Supporters and members of the LGBT community celebrated the Obama victory by going out and protesting the recent passage of Proposition 8 which bans same-sex marriage and some will argue this is a violation of their constitutional rights. During a recent protest rally in Westwood, CA, a student of UCLA and his partner were verbally harassed by other protesters. Geoffrey was called the N word more than once and was told "black people did this" and "most black people hates gays". The blue 'NO ON PROP 8' signs they were carrying received no sympathy from the crowd. The crowd continued to drown the student with racial remarks leaving the pair with no choice but to dispearse before things got heated. However, some other situations were not as peaceful.
